Several schools merged in 2001 to form what is now known as Argosy University. Argosy University has numerous branches and includes the campus of Argosy University-Hawaii. The Medical Institute of Minnesota, University of Sarasota and the American School of Professional Psychology came together to form an educational system that would help prepare individuals for careers in the fields of business, education and psychology.

Argosy College has the following to offer students-the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences, the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, the College of Education and the College of Business-from which to choose their path. The entire body of Argosy University includes campuses all across the country as well as online classes for those who are not in the immediate areas of Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Phoenix, Nashville, Orange County, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Sarasota, Tampa, Twin Cities, Schaumburg or Washington, D. C. Students enrolled at Argosy University-Hawaii may also take online courses to speed their progress.

While attending Argosy University in Hawaii, the following areas are open for degree completion-Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Criminal Justice, Business, Education and Liberal Arts. The school is all encompassing, providing not only courses that are specific immediately to these focus areas, but in interpersonal areas, as well. There was a new announcement recently that Argosy University-Hawaii will begin offering a new degree. Students wishing to pursue a Doctorate Degree in Education in Counselor Education and Supervision can now fulfill their requirements and obtain their degree at this campus.
