Several schools merged in 2001 to form what is now known as Argosy University. Argosy University has numerous branches and includes the campus of Argosy University-Hawaii. The Medical Institute of Minnesota, University of Sarasota and the American School of Professional Psychology came together to form an educational system that would help prepare individuals for careers in the fields of business, education and psychology.

The entire body of Argosy University includes campuses all across the country as well as online classes for those who are not in the immediate areas of Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Phoenix, Nashville, Orange County, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Sarasota, Tampa, Twin Cities, Schaumburg or Washington, D. C. Students enrolled at Argosy University-Hawaii may also take online courses to speed their progress.
While attending Argosy University in Hawaii, the following areas are open for degree completion-Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Criminal Justice, Business, Education and Liberal Arts. The school is all encompassing, providing not only courses that are specific immediately to these focus areas, but in interpersonal areas, as well.
