Iguanas come from a habitat where they were free to roam trees and shrubbery. Iguanas love to roam their area and explore. Iguanas also need the proper lighting to thrive in your home. The how to build iguana cage secrets below will help guide you to create an atmosphere that an iguana is use to.
Secret #1: Provide Proper Lighting
Your pet will need lots of UVBs. You must provide your pet iguana with this special lighting and you can get these types of lights at your local pet store. Your pet will need these types of rays because the UVB's will give your iguana important nutrients it needs to survive.
Secret #2: Build A Carefree Home
Note that iguana's skin is very sensitive and your pet's home can not have anything that sticks or pokes out, such as loose wire or wood splinters. Your iguana will want to explore the home that you have built for it and it will rub on anything that it can touch. So if you have any loose objects that are sticking out and can cut or injure your iguana, then they most likely will.
Secret #3: Provide It Clean Food And Water
Your pet must remain healthy at all times. Therefore your pet must have unspoiled food and clean water at all times in its cage. If you leave spoiled food out for your pet, then your iguana will most likely get sick. So if you suspect food to be spoiled, just throw it away.
Secret #4: Shrubbery And Rocks
Iguanas love to hide under shrubbery and climb on rocks and other apparatuses, therefore you must provide these to your pet iguana. Use any type of rocks and shrubbery to achieve this. Your iguana will love the toys you put in there for it.
Secret #5: Provide A Big Cage
Please do not make your iguana cage too small where your iguana can not move around freely. Iguanas need space! However in saying this, your iguana cage does not need to be overly big. Iguanas do come from the wild and are use to big environments. Do your pet iguana some good and build them a big cage.
With all the secrets you should be able to build yourself a big cage for your pet. Goodluck!
