Radio or remote control (RC) trucks are popular among hobbyist and casual players alike. With a vast choice of truck models out there, many people are inclined to collect as many kinds of RC that their budget allows for. And this makes maintenance and cleaning of these trucks a kind of challenge. Keeping the models clean from dusts and grime will not only ensure that they look good but it will keep their performance at an optimum level. So, here are some effective tips to help keep your RC trucks clean and spotless.
First, always keep the air filters clean by giving them a regular cleaning session. Tools to be used for the purpose of cleaning these filters can come from a simple paint brush to a more expensive device such as compressed air. With paint brush, you’ll be able to get to hard to reach areas to sweep off the dirt. The same thing applies with compressed air, only that it is more efficient in getting dirt out. Now a piece of cloth could offer you the same thing, if you are determined enough to keep the air-filters spotless. Just make sure not to leave behind any threads.
Next, always clean up the bottom of your RC trucks after taking out for a run. This is important as the more dirt and grime that gets accumulated there, the faster rusts will develop. Many complain come from the issue that dusts always get stuck at the screw heads area beneath the truck. The remedy would be to use denatured alcohol as opposed to motor cleaner to spray onto the affected areas. Leave it for a few moments and then pick up the dirt using paper clips. Again, a plain small piece of cloth would do the trick if you’re patient enough.
Lastly, keep the body of your RC shiny and dirt-free. You can always use a plain toothbrush to get into hard to reach spots. A softer brush like a small paint brush is the better alternative especially when you are brushing off dusts from the exterior part of your truck. This will prevent unnecessary scratches on the paint from occurring.
