There are many dandruff remedies on the market but some may contain chemical you necessarily might not want on your head. There are a few natural remedies you should give a try before going to the grocery store and picking up a bottle of dandruff treatment.
One method used by many is using lemon juice which very effective and should cure your dandruff problem within a couple treatments. Another method is to use apple cider vinegar which is good for pretty much anything. Apple cider vinegar with green apples makes for a good dandruff remedy. I used ACV and green apples and it cured my dandruff. You can combined ACV with all sorts of essential oils and that will sure your dandruff problem in no time.
Dandruff first arises to an individuals awareness with itching and flaking of the scalp. But its not just the scalp that can be affected, the eyebrows, forehead and ears can also experience signs of dandruff. But if your dandruff is constant and always comes with an itch and irritation then it could be possible you have another skin condition called seborrhea or psoriasis, so check with your doctor as soon as possible if you believe this to be you.Before we get to dandruff remedies, lets look at the causes. Many people believe dandruff is caused by a dry scalp, but this is not true, in fact people with very oily scalps can develop dandruff. The main culprit for dandruff is thought to be yeast or over oily skin. Stress is also another major factor and a bad diet that consists of high levels of sugar intact can also contribute to the condition.
Dandruff, also called seborrheic dermatitis is an itchy, flaky and persistent skin disorder of the scalp, without redness. It results when the scalp sheds dead skin cells in large numbers. Dandruff appears as dry, white or greyish flakes usually on the top of the head.It is normal to continuously shed some dead skin flakes, as the skin is constantly renewing itself. With dandruff, this whole process of skin renewal speeds up, so a greater number of dead cells get shed. In addition, the cells are shed in clumps, which are big enough to be seen with the naked eye as embarrassing flakes. The scalp may also feel slightly itchy.
Having a dry scalp is a very common problem and many people suffer from this ailment. The skin on your scalp can be very temperamental, and without taking into consideration its specific needs, you are bound to have many issues. If your scalp does not receive enough moisture, it will not be able to properly dispose of dead skin. This is when dandruff begins. When you have a dry scalp, not only does your skin have a hard time retaining enough moisture, it is difficult for your scalp to maintain the natural balance of oils within itself. Don't worry though with knowledge of what the remedies for dry scalp are, this is the easiest root cause to fix.
There are several home remedies that are very effective in controlling dandruff. These home remedies require ingredients that can be easily available in your kitchen. Anti-dandruff products available in the market can cause damage to your hair and your hair can start falling or even you can see premature graying of your hair. On the other hand, home remedies are simple, inexpensive and free from harmful effects.
