Management education evolved in the period of 1900s and Harvard started in 1908 to impart formal management training. Since then MBA or business education is treated as the king of courses. In India, formal management education started with the inception of IIM Ahmedabad in collaboration with Harvard. Since then there is always a set defined priority to bring in corporate practice in to the class room. This was made possible in a number of ways and one prominent ways of doing so was internship. Gradually summer internship or summer training became an accepted curriculum in the management pedagogy.
Many management institutes are coming up with the convergence of ideas and plans which is constantly transforming the global business model and reorienting the future of globalization. Their aim is to incorporate the world’s best academic practices into all their programs, namely our management and executive programs, training programs for the Top Management of the corporate world.
Students are imparted new knowledge to benefit business and society, through supervisory education and applied research. Consistently top-rated for teaching quality and research with recognized research leaders across disciplines as diverse as industrial dispute resolution, business strategy, customer service, enterprise, CSR, sales marketing, and energy policy, people come to these institutes to explore grounded, well researched ideas. They found "ideas" that work in the real world.
These institutes have developed at a swift pace with great revolutionary thoughts. Their vision is to deliver the best of Management Education and emphasis on overall development of its students with highest exposure to the practical working environment. It could be defined in two words, "MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE".
These management institutes teach students to think strategically when making decisions, to empathize their peer, to inspire teamwork and team building, and to contribute to the success of a project and the overall objective of corporate social responsibility.
With collaboration with foreign universities and colleges, these institutes conduct global exchange programs wherein students travel to different institutions. These programs ensure international exposure to the business and the cultural environment leading to a balanced view of the world.
There are some really good institutes, except IIMs, which impart international level of management education to local Indians and even attracting foreign students from many other developing countries.
