Building a house was never so simple before the invention of prefabricated buildings. Everyone wants to own a house these days but the problem with building a house on-site using conventional methods is the time it takes to be built, cost, weather conditions and so on. The best solution in a situation where you want a house within a short period of time as well cost effective is the prefabricated house. Prefabricated buildings are the buildings which consists of various factory built sections or components which are assembled on the intended site to complete the building.
The prefabricated buildings were first created during the Gold Rush in United States to facilitate the prospectors to construct building for accommodation quickly and efficiently. But it became more popular during the World War II when the need for mass accommodation for military personnel aroused. In the prefabricated buildings, the components are manufactured off-site and later shipped to the final intended site where all the components or modules are assembled to make a complete prefabricated building. The most important feature of these buildings is that the components can be put together very quickly, sometimes in few hours.
The prefabricated buildings are made up of materials like aluminum, steel, concrete, fiberglass and wood in order to provide durability and security. No matter how big or small the building is, prefabricated buildings can be opted for very easily. These buildings include both modular buildings and mobile buildings. They can also be assembled in a constructed building and sometimes even be assembled on non-concrete base. They have been found useful in areas which are more prone to disasters, earth quakes, cyclones, snowfall, heavy rains, etc where the houses need to be erected immediately for shelter. They are lighter in weight by which they can be moved easily, and lower in cost.
The prefabricated buildings are mostly made up of steel in order to ensure stability, durability and strength. They are also free of corrosion as steel is rust resistant. Apart from this, they are also fire protected due to non-combustible nature of steel. They are more economical than conventional buildings and due to the ready-to-assemble architectural style, the labor cost and time is reduced.
If in case you need a building for a very short period of time, then the best way out is prefabricated buildings. Many buildings such as schools, apartments, colleges, office space, health care, retail shops, fast food outlets, telephone booths, security cubicles, smoking shelters, sports arena, clubs, military establishments, etc., are mostly made of prefabricated technology. Prefabricated buildings come along with different facilities which include internal electrical wiring, windows, doors, shelves, bulletproof windows for military purposes, and climate control systems.
They can also be built in multiple stories. Custom prefabricated buildings are also available where in you can select wall panels, frames, flooring, ceiling, doors, windows, and almost everything which is needed for a building along with color scheme. The prefabricated modular buildings can range from $35 to $450 per square feet. The factors which affect the price are quality of the material, building size and complexity of the design.
For buying a prefabricated building, you first need to contact a good manufacturer who supplies quality materials and provides service for a reasonable cost. You also need to check for the warranty details and see to it that the cost should even include installation charges. The manufacturers give a warranty of few years against any structural damages, leakages and also wind loads. Another important aspect to be considered is that the building specification should meet all the building conventions of the local area where the building is being erected.
It would be better to check the builders experience in constructing the kind of building you want to get built by asking for photographs or videos of the previous made buildings, and the one which you want to purchase. It would be advisable to look at a few models and take quotations from few suppliers before finalizing your order as you would surely have a dream house in mind and budget constraints.
