In recent times, hair loss has become a common condition, especially among men although, the exact cause of hair loss is still a mystery. Some research studies have linked hair loss with the lack of iron, the condition of the skin on the scalp, an excess of the hormone DHT and probably an under active thyroid gland.

Women often have the time and budget to see a hairstylist or a dermatologist for hair care and facials. Women should take this initiative one step further by bringing their hair to skin experts and have their scalp examined. Hair stylists know a thing or two about healthy scalps, but nothing beats the advice of a doctor.

PABA or Para-Aminobenzonic Acid is a vitamin that belongs in the B complex family. Its particular effect in hair health is that it has been known to be a highly effective anti-graying supplement. Recent studies show that individuals with low PABA diets tend to develop gray hair. As they upped their intake of PABA, the normal color of their hair was restored almost immediately.

The two most popular types of medication that deal with that, are Minoxidil and Finasteride. Minoxidil, which is known as Rogaine in the market, can be acquired as an over the counter drug. It can either be rubbed or sprayed on the user's scalp. On the other hand, Finasteride or Propecia is a prescription drug. Women are generally advised to stay away from Propecia as it has not been approved by the FDA for females.

The main feature of these shampoos is that they help eliminate DHT or Dihydrotestosterone which is the primary cause of hair. This substance limits the sufficient flow of nutrients and vitamins to the hair follicles which causes them to thin or fall out. By restricting the production of DHT, hair loss shampoos are able to promote the overall health of one's hair.

Vitamin E is another one of the many hair loss prevention vitamins needed by the body. It also has its benefits when it comes to hair health as it promotes the proper circulation of blood in the scalp thereby increasing its oxygen intake. There are a lot of sources of this nutrient which includes cereals, vegetable oils, grains, nuts, and leafy greens.

If you can not use hair oil in day time then apply it before going to bed and rinse off in the morning. But you should use oil twice in a week. Brahmi Amla oil promotes hair growth.

You should take diets rich in iron, zinc, vitamins and proteins. Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits and diary products.

Poor diet or malnutrition is another medical reason for hair loss. This cause can become combined with other medical causes, because serious illnesses can lead to malnutrition due to inability to eat properly. Vitamin supplements are recommended for anyone, especially those who are already experiencing hair loss.

However, some of these products may be a bit over the edge. That is, some manufacturers take advantage of the market by releasing semi-effective items that are overpriced. Involving one's self in a hair prevention diet which includes a full array of vitamins and minerals is definitely still the best option.
