There are as many different types of bloggers out there as there are blogs. If you examine and read enough blogs, you realize that all these bloggers fall into a limited amount of categories. If you know what these types are, you can market to them in a more targeted way. So what I am going to do in this article is examine the more common types of bloggers

From a marketing point of view, blogging is a fairly easy market to break into. All you have to do is read people's blogs and comment on their posts. It helps if you are interested in the same niche that they are into, but it is not necessary.

" Personal Bloggers: This is the most common type of blog on the 'net. These are the free blogs made by people who just want to share things online. These types of blogs are made to be read by family, friends, and colleagues. Personal bloggers are easy to market to because you can just read the blog and see what the people are into. Then all you have to do is work your marketing and sales pitch around the niche they are interested in.

" Review Bloggers: This blogger type is probably the easiest to sell to because they need products to review and be affiliates for. Review bloggers make their money in the marketing field, also. These types of bloggers are also one of your best promoters. You should make sure your product is good and in the same niche as the blogger.

" Agenda Bloggers: Agenda blogging is for a very specific reason. On one hand, this type of blogger is the hardest to market to. But on the other hand, if you can figure out their agenda, then they are the easiest.

I think most political bloggers, and news bloggers fall into this category. They are very focused on their subject and not overtly interested in any type of sales. So the best way--I think--to deal with these kinds of people is not to sell to them, but instead give them content that is specific to their subject. This way they will begin to trust you, and as we all know, trust is the first step in any good sales relationship.

Once you figure out what kind of blogger you are dealing with, it is much easier to market to them. If you can figure out which of the three types of bloggers the person is, then you can cater your product or service towards that type of blogger. Also if you have a product completed, you may be able to repackage the product to make it easier to sell to that type of blogger.

So go out, study a few different types of blogs, and find out which type of blogger you want to work with now and in the future.
