There's nothing like spending the day on the water. Owning a boat have been your fantasy for a long time - and now that dram is a reality. Almost as exciting as finally acquiring that boat you've wanted for so long is outfitting it with the electronics you need to make your days out on the water as safe, comfortable, and fun as possible. The first electrics you should obtain worry about is the safety one . A VHF radio is one thing that will help put your mind at ease as you venture out, knowing you can radio for help if need be . Lowrance offers fixed mount radios like the LVR 880, which features Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and FM radio reception. If you're in the market for a hand held VHF radio, you have your choice of the LHR 80, the LHR 22, and the LHR 20. the LHR 80 is also waterproof, floatable, and has a built in GPS receiver. The LHR 22 is waterproof as well and in addition has a battery of Lithium-ion type and a camo pattern body. The LHR 20 resembles the LHR 22 without the camo detail.
If you live outside North and South America, you can get the Lowrance GlobalMap 5150C full sized GPS chartplotter. It has a GPS+WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) antenna, and a five inch screen that displays 640 by 480 resolution. The GlobalMap 4800M, 5200C, and 5300IGPS all have both GPS and WAAS capabilities , and the latter two also have color monitors.
There are five full size Lowrance fish finders available. The X136DF is a dual frequency (50/200 kHz) sonar with depth penetration to 2500 feet. The X135 is a single frequency fish finder (200kHz) with a five inch square screen with monochrome 480 x 480 resolution. It can read up to 1000 feet deep. Lowrance's X136DF is dual frequency sonar with high resolution monochrome display that reads up to 1700 feet of depth penetration. The X125 sonar that reads as deep as 900 feet, works at 200kHz frequency and has a monochrome display of five inches. in addition, the X96 is a sonar with monochrome five inch screen with 320 x 320 resolution and 1500 watts peak to peak power, working at 200kHz.
Lowrance offers a range of compact fish finders as well, with varying features including full color or monochrome display and options like hydrographic mapping. If you are into ice fishing , then the X67C Ice Machine is a 200kHz sonar fish finder equipped with a special carrying bag and a rechargeable battery with a charger.
You can also outfit your boat with a line of Lowrance digital gauges that will display fish finding information, temperature, depth, or multiple readings on one dial.
