In 2008, China opened up to the world and showed their best colors when they hosted the summer Olympic games. China’s government is run by a single communist party and it is not well perceived by most around the world. There are a lot of unfounded thoughts on how China truly is. It was, before the Olympics a country that would not want to share things with the outside. The image that most people have of China is not a very positive one. Although, no one can say that China is free of any wrong doing, it is a place that is much better than most people would think. By opening its door, China tried to convince people that there is more to the country than just a government who is oppressing its people.
There is a very rich culture and history that is present there. There are so many different cultural differences from village to village. There cities are also quite developed and they have a lot of advance technologies.
A Chinese immersion program in China will enable you to explore these things and open up your mind to a whole new world you thought did not quite exist. It will be a soul enriching experience to see things that maybe no one else has seen. To be able to understand and talk about what you experience in foreign travel is priceless. From the villages to the cities, from the mountains to the plains, from the ancient monuments to the food, the amount of knowledge there is to learn is limitless.
Once you get into a Chinese immersion program in China, you will also be able to acquire knowledge that will help boost your career. This country has a lot to offer to the world. If you acquire their language, you will be able to work for a country that needs people who can understand fluent Chinese dialects. This can take you to so many major companies, or maybe even start your own. There is always an opportunity to find work where you are originally from. The export business is huge in China with all the labor present there. It is also possible to work in translation.
Learning to live in China can get difficult, certainly if you are from a totally different culture. Learn how to properly communicate with the people, and learn how to not only properly connect with the people with the right words, but also the right gestures.
