Baldness for either men or women has various potential causes. Determining the reason why you could be suffering will greatly help you in finding the ideal treatment for it. Baldness may be characterized by patchy hair loss on certain areas of your head - or generalized hair loss, which means that you're losing your hair entirely.
Thyroid problems can cause hair loss because of the effect they may have on certain hormones. Along these lines, serious illnesses can be triggers. High fevers may cause hair loss as well. Certain medications such as chemotherapy and radiation treatments are also known to cause baldness/hair loss. When treatments or medications are stopped, hair will grow again but it will take some time.
Causes:
There are many things associated with this, but today, we can easily say that stress and anxiety, other than hereditary problems, top the list. Here are some other major causes of baldness that you need to look out for:
1.Ageing.
2.Irregular Periods.
3.Unkempt scalp.
4.Thinning of hair Strands.
5.Prolonged illnesses like Jaundice.
6.High Testosterone Levels.
7.Excessive Vitamin intake
Put simply androgenetic alopecia and combination of hormones (testosterone, androsteinedione, dihydrotestosterone) and genetics. The causative mechanism is a somewhat complicated and unpredictable in which those genetically susceptible to the condition experience an excess buildup of DHT in the follicle causing hairs to become finer and shorter. It also interrupts the very important hair replacement cycle causing the number of hairs lost to accelerate. Additionally, many follicles are rendered incapable of producing or maintaining healthy hair growth.
Most frontal baldness is caused by a condition known as Male Patter Baldness (MPB). MPB is genetic and develops because of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone aka DHT. This substance is created when the male hormone testosterone comes into contact with a specific enzyme. DHT attacks healthy hair follicles and shortens their growth cycle. This usually happens over time and may not be very noticeable at first.
Sometimes balding causes a man to change how he feels about how he looks and even himself. Many men think they are not as attractive when they have less hair. Some men take balding easily and just allow it to happen. The truth is that the reaction depends on the person, but your balding doesn't influence the opinions of other people about who you are as an individual.
Menopause: Menopause generally occurs between the ages of 40 and 55 with the average age being 51. This condition has an dramatic impact both physically and mentally is one of the few causes of female baldness that can lead to permanent balding. A woman's hair often reflects the hormonal changes taking place in her body. Facial and body hair may start to thicken, while hair on the scalp will become thinner, less robust, and generally appear unhealthy.
Many people have heard that hair loss is genetic, but do you actually know WHY it's genetic and HOW it affects you? What actually happens is you inherit a gene from one of your parents that makes your follicles highly sensitive to a certain androgen called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT.
