One of the things about hosting a party in your home or office, is that you are inviting a lot of people into your space, and are providing those people with food and drinks; essentially everything they need to carelessly destroy the beauty of the environment. That is why its important to take certain precautions when having a party in your home. One of these precautions is the distribution and use of beverage coasters.
Coasters provide one essential function, they act as the barrier between messes and your precious surfaces. They are guardians against scratches, stains, spills, blemishes and discoloration. They are the defenders of your home.
When having a party, coasters are important because most people will be busy concentrating on having a good time, and wont be thinking about water rings or scratches on tables. However the presence of coasters can serve to remind them that they are a guest, and that the beauty and perfection of the house is really something they should take responsibility for.
When having a small party with just a few friends, you can be relatively subtle with your coaster use. Just by pulling one from the set and placing your drink on it, you can hint to your guests that they should do the same.
When dealing with a larger party setting, it may be better to just spread coasters throughout the space. Rather than going up to each guest and offering them a coaster, which can seem pushy, just make them available to everyone, and try to lead by example.
Another aspect of party coasters is that they can be more than just a functional accessory. They can actually be part of the decorative nature of the space. By choosing coasters in matched colors, or with themes that compliment the style of the space, you can ensure that they are actually part of the decorative nature of the entire setting.
While coasters may not be a party essential, they are essential for maintaining the beauty and perfection of your home, especially when you have a large number of guests over. By spreading them throughout the environment you can ensure that your guests are aware of their presence, and have every chance necessary to use them.
