Working out can be boring so here are some great tips to make it more fun while also keeping you fit. When you have a regular exercise routine that you follow, you tend to get bored with the repetitive activities which will motivate you less and less as the days pass.

Needless to say, I gained a lot of weight and my mood swings were horrible. I didn't eat properly and the most exercise I got was walking to and from my car. It's easy to get trapped in this type of routine. Over the years I have learned that fitting in exercise doesn't have to be hard and I also discovered that I don't need to spend an excessive amount of time doing it. If you do the right types of exercises, you can burn fat in a minimal of time. Thirty minutes is the minimum amount needed for burning belly fat.

Most Effective Exercises for Belly Fat

Most people immediately think they have to put forth a lot of effort and time in order to burn fat and calories. Because of this type of thinking, it is easy to assume that performing a ton of cardio is the answer. It is also easy to assume that if you use gym machines or lift weights, you have to spend at least 2 hours in the gym.

Too much cardio can actually cause our bodies to seek energy from our muscles creating muscle loss. What actually helps burn fat is having more muscle. However, spending two hours in the gym lifting weights is not the time saver you are looking for. A better solution is a combination of strength training, interval training, and some calisthenics.

The most that is required are some dumbbells, stability ball or bench, and your own body weight. Here is a sample workout I like to do:

  • Squats (10 - 15)

  • Push-ups (15)

  • Jumping jacks (15)

  • Lunges (using dumbbells - 10 - 12)

  • Mountain climbers (24)

  • Repeat above for 3 or more sets with 30 seconds rest in between sets

The above can be completed within 30 minutes and believe me, it can be a very intense workout. There are dozens of different exercises that you can mix and match so your routine will never become dull. I usually do this 3 - 4 times per week and bike ride or walk for cardio the rest of the week.

Always consult with your doctor before starting or changing to a new workout. However, strength training and interval training are great muscle builders that burn fat in less time.
