Islam-Australia Incorporation is a non-profit organization (based in Perth) by Muslim in Australia dedicated to share all about Islam with non-Muslims and to provide social and spiritual services to new Muslims. We strive (to the best of our ability) to adhere to the true teachings of Islam at all times.
Islam literally means 'submission to God' and is derived from a root word meaning 'peace'. Islam is considered a 'way of life' for Muslims and they make no division between secular and sacred in their lives. The Quran is the Final Revelation from the Creator to humanity. It was revealed in 610 CE to the last Prophet Mohammad and completed over a period of 23 years. These 23 years of revelation resulted in a book which comprised of 114 chapters and some 6000 verses. This book is the message of your creator that serves as the primary source of regulation for the life of mankind.
The five pillars of Islam are fundamental principles of the religion that every Muslim has an obligation to live. Failing to do so causes great oppression of the God given potential for the individual and for the whole society. It is these pillars of Islam that gives the Muslim and his society its structure to operate.
The 5 pillars of Islam are:
-
The Declaration of Faith, to "Testify that there is no deity except God (Allah) and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God".
-
To establish the obligatory prayers.
-
To Pay charity as a right of the poor.
-
To Fast especially the month of Ramadan.
-
To Make the pilgrimage to the sacred House in Mecca if you have the means to do so.
Muslims believe that Allah's sovereignty is to be acknowledged in worship and in the pledge to obey His teaching and commandments, conveyed through His messengers and prophets who were sent at various times and in many places throughout history. Jesus in Islam is considered as one of the greatest of God's messengers to mankind.
