Fabric covered RV storage shelters have become very popular for consumers wishing to obtain a value based storage alternative for campers, 5th wheels, motorhomes, and RVs. These tension fabric structures cost a fraction of a conventional brick, vinyl, or wood storage shelter. There are many garage accessories and features which can be applied to provide for a more rewarding owner experience.
One feature which provides for a positive experience is sufficient interior lighting or illumination. Many RV shelters have white interiors for enhanced illumination. Some manufacturers will use clear (or see thru fabric) to enable sunlight to shine in. The clear fabric is typically placed on the top of the RV shelter. Others will place the clear fabric on the sides.
Another shelter accessory which can provide for an enhanced owner experience is a roll up door kit. A rollup door kit allows the user to open the door more easily without hand rolling. This device will also support with keeping the door open. Some RV shelter manufacturers use a mechanical crank type device while others use a rope mechanism similar to a window blind.
Another RV shelter accessory which can provide added protection for the contents is a vent kit. A vent kit helps to reduce humidity within the shelter. Humidity can cause contents to rust or deteriorate in another manner. This accessory will keep air flowing through the shelter. Vents can be placed on the gable portion or lower side portion of the RV shelter. Never place on top of the shelter, as rain or snow can enter. Vent kits are installed by the owner so it is imperative that manufacturer’s instructions be followed. If an incorrect hole size is placed in the cover, the warranty will be voided.
Other common accessories include shelving & interior light kits. Anchors are often referred to as accessories with some dealers. However, anchors are a requirement to secure the shelter to the mounting surface.
A RV shelter has many uses & accessories which can provide for a more positive owner experience. It is important to consider these options prior to making a purchase.
