According to James Bryce, the worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it. This is definitely true. It is certainly not enough reading a book, but learning from it. A lot of people take reading as a form of leisure and relaxation. For others though, reading is a process of learning and obtaining valuable information. No matter how a book may be seen from person to person, the basic concept which underlies its essence is wisdom. It is very unlikely for a person to have not gained anything from reading a book at all. It is always that at the end of the last chapter, a person is a book wiser.
Conventionally, a book is composed of individual papers fastened together as one, where thoughts and ideas are printed and written on. These individual papers are referred to as the pages of the book. The sizes and the weights of books vary depending on the number of pages that the books contain, and the thickness of the papers used. This is probably why a man's strength becomes the limiting factor to the amount of books that he can carry and read for a certain period of time.
Aside from the size and the weight, the quality of printing is also another important consideration of books. It may be that the printing is done poorly such that the book will only last a few years before the prints will start to fade out. Although, not too many books have been recorded to last only a few years, only very few last a lifetime. These are probably some of the reasons why the conventional book has revolutionized into e-books and audio books.
E-books are still in the printed form minus the papers. With the advances of technology that people are enjoying today, it is not very difficult to achieve these changes. While the conventional books are printed on papers, e-books are digital e-texts that form the equivalent of printed texts in digital media form. This digital media form certainly eliminates the weight and size that conventional books have.
On the other hand, audio books are voice recordings of printed materials or books. Although audio books are recordings of previously printed books, these do not necessarily contain the exact details of the printed books. The audio books have been a welcome option for people with sight problems. Moreover in audio books, the feelings and emotions that a certain book would like to convey are exhibited in the manner in which these books are read over. This certainly makes stories more animated and real. As such, audio books have become more popular nowadays and are available commercially, both in the market and online.
There are a number of great Books that have been converted into Audio Books that are available online and can be downloaded for free.
