A high definition camera from Panasonic, Panasonic is providing its fans a viewfinder, lens ring, microphone jacks, headphone and many of the manual controls. However you cannot ignore the downside of the Panasonic HDC-HS300 due to the switch to touch screen controls, which show imprecision or sensitive as the traditional directional pad control or the joystick. You can see the big change in the hood feature. The Camcorder has altered in its size and the resolution of the three CMOS sensors. The Panasonic claims that the noise will reduce, but it’s a long wait and the camcorder is yet to get its final touch.

The Panasonic camcorder is equipped with the latest developed, large-aperture Leica Dicomar lens (12x optical zoom) and we get to see the same three sensor array that was included in the HDC-HS 100 and HDC-SD 100 model. The new lens looks huge and the sensor size is different too- each of the sensors is huge and has fewer pixels. The company however maintains that this will reduce interpolation and in turn, noise.

The front of the handy cam is home to the unique manual control lens ring, and you will observe the change from the last year’s model. If you keep the LCD open, the ring controls zoom or focus and the white balance, speed, iris are controlled through new touch screen. For still photography use the lens in the flash and the focus assist lamp. The right side of the video camera consists of hard drive, it is now much sturdier and stable, but lacks in comfort and the padding. The headphone and the microphone ports are also attached on the right of the camcorder.

The back of the panasonic camcorder is slightly changed, but nothing valuable as eliminating the HDMI and USB ports from the interior of the battery cavity to the LCD cavity. Regrettably the DC power input is still concealed; therefore you cannot charge the battery and make use of the camcorder at the same instance. The left side is a provided with a switch for toggling the lens ring operation between focus and zoom. You can enter the function menu here. The Panasonic camcorder’s ports have been wisely transported to a suitable position in the LCD cavity.

The top is nothing new except the cold accessory shoe, desired by videographers and also new addition is the zoom toggle. At the bottom of the handy cam there are no particular new features, basically the battery release and a tripod mount is all there is to it.
