A blog with no comments is often overlooked, hence, why getting blog comments rolling in is important for the progression of your blog. If you know for certain that you are getting visitors to your blog, maybe because your website stats has a good amount of data showing you where your visitors are coming from and what pages they visited, maybe it's time to take a look at some ways to get the comment ball rolling.

There is really no point in posting a blog comment that is totally unrelated to your blog. Although a direct connection is not necessary, it is much preferred. For example, if you have a blog that talks about computer software, you should not limit yourself to comment on other blog, which also talks about the same thing. Commenting on blog talking about programming language, which is used to write the software, or other people's experience on using that software, are also a very good start in advertise your blog.

Most bloggers particularly those who are already in the blogging industry are already blind about these comments. As mentioned above, blogs are regularly updated, so the owner knew already when a comment is a blog spam comment or not. For the reason, the owner is no longer reading such comment, instead, just click on the spam comment option and click the moderate comment button with even considering other comments.

What a lot of people tend to forget, however, is that there are best practices for everything, including blog commenting. Most people go about a blog commenting strategy the wrong way and there is a higher leverage technique that most blogger don't do, but even if you follow the basic advice and just get out there and be a prolific commenter it will build traffic, and here's proof.

Most comments come from spammers... either flat out spam, or spam thinly disguised as a legitimate comment. Either way, the vast majority of blog comments are worthless to my visitor. With the prevelance of blog comment spam, you're going to need to install spam prevention software. And that's great. Programs like Aksimet are great at stopping blog comment spam. But some spam falls through the cracks and you're going to invest time determining if the comment is legit or not.

Reply to Comments: This is pretty much a no brainer - reply to your comments! Tell people thanks, answer their questions, and reply to their comments. Comments get indexed in search engines too you know, and the comments you add in reply to your comments the more content the search engines have to index from your site. Also - people like to know that you are reading their comments, and furthering the discussion(s) makes them want to come back. THIS is a GREAT way to build loyal readers!

Blog commenting also have the intent of gaining more relevant links to have in your site. It can be noted that like forums, leaving comments on blogs is a way of placing links which people can also go through. Blog commenting had long been a form of free advertising that businesses take advantage of. All that needs to be done is to find a blog that is interesting and is known for their readability.
