Best Catnip

Many people that give their cat catnip can see a difference in your cats demeanor. It is a very obvious change and is something we can enjoy watching. When you have the best catnip your cats behavior is an experience to watch.

We can view the cats behavioral change but do we really know what happens on the inside? For many years we wondered what in the catnip caused the cat to react in the way that he or she does and how does the cat’s brain react. Within the last few decades we have found a reasonable answer.

Catnip is made with a very profound smell and has whorls which are found in pale pigmented flowers. The scent in this product is what the cat is attracted to. Once your feline companion smells this thrilling odor he is hooked. The scent is transmitted to their brain and puts the cat in an ecstacy state of mind. The part of the brain that is affected is the hypothalamus. This controls the cats sexual behavior, his predatory instincts, and the appetitive part. Although we are not too familiar with what really happens inside the cat’s brain when an addictive scent is introduced, we do know that is not harmful.

When you have the best catnip you will see more reactions. Little do we know, not all cats are reactant to this intoxicating smell. Only about 60% to 80% of felines react. This also includes large cats such as tigers. So when you are seeking a good treat for your feline friend I recommend catnip.

Catnip can be used in different ways for your friendly fellow. They can be given catnip directly where the cat would sniff and pat with it. There are many toys that you can give to a cat that has inserted catnip. Recently, some manufacturers have made scratching posts with catnip inside.

Cats that have used catnip you can see acts differently. You may notice a more "kitten like" behavior. He or she may be sniffing more heavily, shaking their heads, purring more loudly, rolling around on the floor, stumbling over themselves, kicking in a forward direction with their hind legs, and having a exciting behavior.

Although we know little about how the brain reacts to catnip, we can see the effects it causes to our feline companions demeanor. We have no need to worry about the health of our cat. Scientists have done many research in this subject. Catnip is a fun, enjoyable aroma for our cats and is definitely a gift you should want to share!
