Once I first regarded at these UFC betting lines I had to consider another look. I cannot think that The Pit-bull (22-6) is the online UFC betting favorite. I'd personally have though the odds would be -110 for both MMA fighters.
Jon Fitch is the most under rated UFC fighter in mixed martial arts in Jon Fitch (25-3) who has already outdone The Pitbull at UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 5 by KO (blank). The key reason why Fitch isn't the sports betting favorite is in his last mixed martial arts match at UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez with Mike Pierce he went the full three rounds.
Fitch isn't a thrilling MMA fighter and he doesn't have beautiful victories but he is a skilled all around MMA martial artist. He is like Dan Henderson and wins fights through attrition and going the distance. Out of his 21 victories eleven have been be decision with his last six UFC fights going to the UFC judges. Remember that Fitch has faced head on top rated level MMA fighters and has only lost to Georges St Pierre Wilson Gouveia, and his 1st MMA fight as opposed to highly talented Mike Pyle. The checklist of martial artists he has beaten is amazing with victories over Paulo Thiago, Akihiro Gono at UFC 94: St-Pierre vs. Penn 2, Chris Wilson, Diego Sanchez , at UFC Fight Night: Stout vs. Fisher, (blank) Brock Larson, Shonie Carter and The Pitbull.
Before his defeat to Georges St Pierre, Fitch was on a sixteen fight winning streak where he fought wrestlers, jiu-jitsu fighters and strikers. He conquered them all and it revealed that he could match up UFC fighters from any position.
Alves has way better striking abilities He is recognized for his striking abilities with 16 out of his 22 victories coming by knock out. Yes Thiago KO most fighters however, if you look at Fitch's battles he has only been knocked out once and that was to Gouveia who fights in the light heavyweight division. If you consider his struggle with Georges St Pierre, Jon Fitch was beaten for the whole 5 rounds He was hit with everything and he still would not go down. If you seen that MMA fight you could not believe that the punishment Jon Fitch was taking
Alves isn't known as a MMA fighter that could start the later MMA rounds but his continues to be capable of remove guys early on. He's a 2nd round MMA fighter and when he goes past the 2nd round he tires. He might be able to get his punches in nevertheless; you just can't KO the soul of Jon Fitch. In the very first match between the two Thiago was taking the match up and he just about KO’ed Fitch but finally Jon reversed the fight and finished up KO’ing the American Top Team MMA fighter late in the 2nd round. I predict the same result in this struggle.
Jon dominates Thiago in the wrestling department. Jon Fitch should be able to take Alves down a consequence of his brilliant wrestling skills. Jon Fitch was a representative of the Purdue State wrestling team, a four-year letterman and was underneath Tom Erikson and eventually became the captain of his wrestling squad. He will obtain the take-down points but Thiago does possess a good sprawl and even GSP had pains holding Alves down once he got the takedown but he will accumulate the factors and that will acquire him the fight.
The key reason why The Pitbull is the UFC betting odds favorite is because Fitch had a poor performance in his last MMA fight Jon Fitch won the battle by judge’s decision but he had a rough time vs. Mike Pierce at UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez.
This fight will likely go to decision since most of Fitch’s MMA fights go the distance and a good choice is a UFC novelty wager for this match up to go the distance. Jon will win this fight on take-down points and he will accumulate some shots on the ground. He won’t be able hold The Pitbull but Fitch will rack up the tallies. Alves will start in a hurry but will tire out late in the second round and into the 3rd and that when Jon Fitch will control.
