Payne is among the many manufacturers whose HVAC parts are sold through MidWestHVACParts.com, an online supplier of Trane, York, Airease, Amana, Luxaire and Lennox parts, among many other brands.  MidWestHVACParts.com also sells models of the Sure Comfort air conditioner and the Sure Comfort furnace, as well as Sure Comfort parts.

D. W. Payne and his son founded Payne Heating & Cooling in 1914.  They built gravity-style furnaces in a converted barn in Los Angeles, California.  Not long after they established the company, they offered the first floor furnace that allowed for installation in a home’s crawl space.  It was only the first of the firsts.

The first forced-air, down-discharge furnace came next, in 1933.  Then came a forced-air furnace that was approved for installation in a closet.  Perimeter and zone heating were Payne pioneering efforts in 1950.  Also in that decade, Payne Heating & Cooling expanded its offering by adding a line of remote air conditioning products.

When John F. Kennedy was President of the United States, in 1962, Payne brought the first horizontal forced-air furnace approved for outdoor installation to the market.  The company also delivered vertical combination heating and cooling units for schools, apartments and other structures

In 1974, Carrier Corporation included Payne its new BDP Company.  Payne continued to improve its products and expand through the 1980s, moving into the Midwest and Northeast from the West and Southwest.  Expansion continued into the 1990s when Payne expanded into the Southeast.  By 1997, Payne completed its national expansion.

Today, Payne provides air conditioners, gas furnaces, heat pumps, indoor coils, duct-free splits, and small packaged products.  The emphasis is on high quality at reasonable prices.

Choosing a home furnace, air conditioner or complete HVAC system can be a difficult process.  Many reputable companies market systems that can provide the efficiency and performance homeowners are looking for.  Often, the choice of brand depends on specific features or, perhaps, the reputation and capabilities of a local contractor, dealer or service organization.

In selecting a home comfort system, it’s a good idea to shop around, ask a neighbor or friend and check out consumer comments and the opinions of rating organizations.  Factors to consider include the efficiency rating, annual cost of operation, how long it will take a higher-efficiency unit to recover the higher cost of the unit and other issues that help determine the value of the purchase.  In the end, the challenge will probably not be finding a good manufacturer but choosing among companies that all build high-quality products.

MidWestHVACParts.com is proud to offer HVAC parts from Payne and from other manufacturers of excellent HVAC equipment.  We offer one-stop shopping for furnace parts, air conditioning parts and refrigeration parts from dozens of manufacturers.
