Email marketing is a way to market your business, product or website directly to customers through email. The emails are sent in an unlimited number of variations from eBooks to articles to newsletters. All of these variations of the email content serve in some way to promote the site or product.
Getting Leads for a Customer List
To be able to engage in email marketing, the marketer must first have an email list. The list is comprised of the email addresses, and usually the names, of people who want to receive these messages through email. It is important that all of the members of the list are there of their own free will in order to avoid violating the laws against sending spam.
To get customers for these lists, set up a way for customers to sign up to join the email list. These customers can sign up through an email form that is provided to them on a blog or a stationary website. The form allows them to enter their name and email address, or perhaps just their email address in order to get access to the content that is promised to them for signing up.
Marketing Newsletters Through Email
One of the most popular ways to get customers to sign up for a marketing list is to offer them a weekly or monthly email newsletter. The newsletter will be packed with practical information that you already know that the customer base is interested in. This can be how-to content that relates to the product or information about how to do more with the products that are being sold.
A newsletter is also used to keep the business name in front of the reader to keep them interested in buying more from the business. It can also be used to market new products and to provide readers with incentives for doing so. The newsletters can carry coupon codes or insider information about the products that will keep customers interest in buying.
Email Marketing With EBooks
Seeking out high-quality eBooks online is a popular way to get information. Offering a free eBook to list members is a quick way to build up a list for email marketing. The eBook can be sent immediately to those who sign up. But, many marketers send it one chapter at a time in order to keep their name in the mind of the reader. This provides many more opportunities for email marketing as well as delivering the content in smaller pieces that are easier to read.
