Ahh… The refreshing aroma of a spa, a relaxing bath - scented with relaxing oils. The experience. The feeling of soothing peace and tranquility - a relaxing massage. The stress melts away.

With life and work as hectic and stressful as it has ever been, health issues can arise when stress and tension takes over, even if it is just mental.

Spa therapy is a great way to relax and get back to the feeling of youth and wellness again. There are many spa therapies as there are Spas.

I'll be covering briefly what spas can do for you to relieve stress and improve health and the various spa therpies available.

There are many sources for spa therapy products and services. SpaHaven.net is just one, however for Spa Locations, you need to check in your local area.

Some of the Spa Therapies are:

  1. Massage.

  2. Hot Stone Massage

  3. Mud Treatments

  4. Aromatherapy

  5. Foot Massage

  6. Bath Treatments

Depending on the origins or the Spa operators background and training, the treatments can vary and sometimes are country specific.

There are a number of sites on the internet, such as Spa Haven, that provide detailed information and resources as well as spa products to help you find the relaxing treatment you need. Some sites even have a full database of spas around the world.

The main reason why one would want to go to a spa realistically is to reduce stress; relax the body, mind and soul; cleanse the system (of your body) and eliminate toxicity.

The fact is, if we keep going and pushing our selves with too much stress, the body builds up toxins, the organs get weak, bacteria and infection set in, then the body is faced with sickness. And sickness does come in a variety of forms.

So spas are not just for the elite, or just women, or individuals that are 'into that kind of thing', but really are for everyone at some point, that may need to get into a more relaxed state of mind, body and soul.

One thing an individual can do to test the results of spa therapy is quite simple. Find a favorite scent of bath oil, such as lavender, mint or eucalyptus; start a warm to hot bath (preferably in a jetted tub) and fill just over half full. With enough of the bath oil to cause just slight bubbling. Close the door to the bathroom and begin the experience.

With the application of meditation music, aromatherapy scented oils, a good massage from a professional masseuse you then have the complete Spa Therapy picture and can understand why there are many benefits to Spa Therapy and relaxed state of being.
