Majorca finds the largest place in the Balearic Island archipelago and the place has been attracting thousands of tourist and visitors from all around the world making quite a name for itself. Majorca is not just an ideal tourist destination; it is also a home to approximately 3.5 million residents. Few of the very famous residents include Hollywood star Annie Lennox, Julian Lennon, Claudia Schiffer and star couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas.

Palma de Majorca

The capital city of Balearic Islands -Palma de Majorca, or so called Palma is home to more than 517,285 people. The economy of Palma is largely driven by tourism and port. Cruise ships along with other water crafts very often dock in the harbor. The city is known for the warm welcome it bestows on visitors and tourists.

Though a number of transport services such as boats, rental cars, taxi services and off-road vehicles are available but walking is considered the best and most popular means of transport for making the best out of the busy streets in the city.

Port de Soller

Located towards the northwest coast, Port de Soller is a horse- shoe shaped bay that is surrounded by treacherous cliffs and incredible beaches. Soller is a nearby valley that is bowl shaped with major attractions being the hamlet Biniaraix and village Fornalutx. Port de Soller is a sparsely populated area is linked to Soller by a tram.

Port de Soller is known to have a number of residential villas and rental villas that support tourism. The area is also connected with Palma de Majorca through an excellent bus service.

Palma Nova

The New Palma or The Palma Nova lies just outside the Palma de Majorca, all of them falling in Calvia municipality. Palma Nova has reported tremendous growth in last few years with a sharp rise in international property investors buying villas and other purchasing property from the point of view of investment. The main focus of investors has been Calvia. This is because the place is home four professional golf courses, a modern promenade, several water parks and Gran Casino Majorca.

Majorca has come forward as one of the most popular year round holiday destinations that the world posses. The favorable climate and natural views make it a favorable home for above 3 million people. Residents work, live, play and raise families on this far-fetched island and an equal number of tourists each year enjoy this place with a promise and urge to come back.
