If you want to drive your car in a legal manner in the state of Kansas, your insurance must be covered in three forms. These are liability, personal injury protection (PIP) and uninsured. The state administration is very strict on insurance and hence they prefer a no fault insurance system in their state. Hence if you are a citizen of this state, your insurance carrier must make all their injury coverage payments to ensure you safe and legal driving.
If you want to do your insurance, you must have the requirement of $25,000 per person in case of a body injury and 450,000 per person incase there is a bodily injury. You must also have a $10,000 per accident for damages related to the property. In case of personal injury protection, you can have $4500 per person in case of medical expenses and if there is a loss of income or disability, you can claim $900 per month for one year. You have also the option of asking for $25 per day for in home services for one year. If there is death, you are eligible to get $2000 for funeral, burial and cremation expenses. In the case of any rehabilitation, you can claim $4500 as expenses. If you are underinsured, then the amounts will be very much less. In such case, you are eligible to get $50,000 per accident. If you are not satisfied with these amounts, you can increase your protection with extra coverage.
It is mandatory that insurance companies must notify the DMV if there is any failure on your part to renew the car insurance. If any officer wants to see them on the road, you can produce either a self insurance certificate or any insurance identification certificate which has been provided by your insurance company.
If you fail to renew your car insurance, you will be fined up to $1000 and if that is ignored, you will be sent to six months imprisonment. If you are caught within three years of the first citation, your fine will be $2500 and you may end losing your registration and also the license.
