Power Stop is an aftermarket car parts brand that was first introduced in 1996 by Southern California-based auto parts manufacture and supplier, Autospecialty. Around September 12 of 2005, a limited liability corporation, Power Stop, LLC bought the rights to the Power Stop brand and the rights to sell Power Stop performance parts. Power Stop, LLC is currently based in Bedford Park, Illinois.

The Power Stop brand gained prominence in the racing community and various police forces for providing better performance as compared to OEM parts. The list of Power Stop performance parts consist mainly of brake parts, including brake pads, brake kits and rotors. For the past 11 years, Power Stop is now aiming to provide the same performance that they have supplied to the racing market to general motorists.

Currently, the company lists a total 12 certified dealers providing Power Stop performance parts which caters to both phone and online orders. The company also has 22 installation centers across Illinois, Indiana, California and Florida.

Power Stop brakes come in different varieties that are able to handle different types of driving preferences. While the key design philosophy is standard, meaning the need for Power Stop brakes to be able to withstand high amounts of heat to avoid brake fading.

The 9-1-1 brakes are designed to be more durable, using nitro blasted drilled rotors which are cryogenically treated, resulting in smoother rotor surface, making it more resistant to wear and tear when braking at high speeds. Currently the application of the program includes vehicles of varying make and models such as the Impala, Crown Vic, E350, F350, Sprinter, Tahoe, Intrepid, Explorer to name a few.
