The world we live in is changing very rapidly. With terror
looming over us we try to push these things out of our
minds. What better way to do this than take a vacation?
Traveling always gives us a sense of freedom and, often
times, joyful occasions. But with the rising cost of fuel
and added security measures flying becomes more and more
expensive.
Do we just sit home and read the paper or do we mortgage the house and go jaunting off to Hawaii just to camp on the
beach because we spent all the trip money to get there? Of
course not! There is a solution to this travel woe.
Cheap airline tickets are, in fact, a reality. There are
many rules and variables to consider, but are they really
worth the headache? If you want to save hundreds of dollars
on travel then it's an emphatic yes!
When purchasing your tickets online there are several things
you need to keep in mind to keep pricing low.
- Are you open to your travel time? Can you leave your
house at 3:18AM to be at the airport by your departure time
of 5:02AM (while leaving time for the strip search)?
-
Days you want to travel. Can you be flexible? If you want to vacation Monday to Monday you may not get a cheap ticket, but if you can leave on Tuesday to vacation thru Wednesday then you might be in luck.
-
Seating. Do you need all your seats in the same row or section?
-
Special Needs. If you have any your chances are greatly reduced.
With these things in mind you'll have a better chance of
garnering the flight you want at a price that won't put your
children into a community college.
There are many sites you can use to shop around and they
vary in how they handle things. Some sites essentially have
you offer a price, like Priceline, and if something is
available will automatically charge you. Other sites like
cheaptickets will list what's available and you choose.
No matter what your choice cheap airline tickets don't have to be expensive as long as you're willing to make exceptions to your vacation. It's best to decide where you wish to go and for how long then find the tickets you need for your trip. The rest can be planned around the tickets. There are certain sites which offer package deals to include hotel, tickets and cars. It's not always inexpensive to combine everything, just easier.
It's your vacation. You'll have fun. Certainly there is no
need to sell your house to go.
