Perception & Truth on Prosperity

Have we become too crazy over a distorted definition of Prosperity?
Have we paid so much attention to building the structure above the ground that we forgot about the foundation on which this structure stands?
Are we looking at getting more transactions by wanting to skip transitions?
Are we more concerned with profits and less aware of service?
Are we more focused on getting more steam out of the boiler without feeding the furnace?
Are we more worried about the interest of our bank account rather than the interest of our Soul?
With our eyes so focused on the structure above the ground, we have lost sight of those infinite resources within that are yet untapped. Yes I am talking about human resources such as imagination, vision, and trust which make the structure possible.
We have devoted nine-tenths of our thoughts, energy and effort to developing transactions without any real reflection on the purpose of transitions.
The time has come when in our own internal interest, in the interests of our personal communities, and global community, we must stop the worry about how fast we should add more stories to this structure. Instead, we must strengthen the foundation upon which the entire structure stands.
The most important fundamental of prosperity: VISION
About a century ago, there was a little town somewhere far-far away. The people in that town considered themselves poverty-stricken. This town was some 3,000 feet above sea level; but it was located at the foot of a great water-power. It has been said that this water-power could easily develop from 10,000 to 15,000 horse-power for twelve months of the year. At the base of this waterfall lived these people, who considered themselves poverty-stricken. They would plow their ground with broken sticks, bringing their corn miles and miles on their backs from the seacoast, and grind it by hand between two stones. Yet it has been said that, with a little vision, they could have developed that water-power, even though in a most primitive manner, and with irrigation, could have made that so called 'poverty-stricken' valley a veritable Garden of Eden. They simply lacked Vision. They were unwilling to look ahead to do something for the next generation and trust that prosperous thinking along with vision and action could invite abundance into their lives.
The head person of the village was asked this question. "Why is it that you don't do something to develop this power?"
"Why, if we started to develop this thing," he answered, "by the time we got it done, we would be dead."
People had lived there for two hundred years lacking vision. No one in that community decided to invite the type of vision that would bring about prosperous change. They had unconsciously decided to be too overwhelmed to see beyond the end of their day (or the "month that was remaining at the end of their paycheck"!). Hence, the great fundamental of prosperity which is that 'intangible something' known as vision; awaiting to bring its prosperous miracles, awaited their willingness to trust the process. They chose to resist!
Vision doesn't come after wealth. It's Vision which produces wealth.
One can have Vision and still remain only a dreamer; but when vision is combined with trust of the journey & consistent action, it is then that prosperity flows like a mighty stream.
Put Vision, Trust, & Action, together with Cooperation & Community, and Prosperity expands from personal and professional dynamics all the way to an unshakable Global Phenomenon.
But don't forget the Human Soul. It's what will be abundantly nourished along the way. As the Human Soul is nourished, we give more thought to the solution and less to the problem. And my friend, when we give just as much thought to the solution as we have given to the problem, we redefine Prosperity indefinitely.
Make a choice to find "Joy" in the Journey, and you have begun!
