Labor And Delivery - Be Well Prepared

Once the third trimester of your pregnancy starts; then begins the time

for all preparations to welcome your baby. During this phase you become

more concerned about the processes involved in labor and delivery and

about whether the arrangements made for the newborn baby are adequate or

not. You seek more and more information about the subject so that you

are prepared for everything. Information like managing and coping with

birth pangs is the most important to know for every mother-to-be. Not

only the mother but even the father needs to be familiar with everything

about the subject. Related tips and suggestions can be extremely useful.

Birth Of The Baby

It is very important to know about the various types of delivery methods

because you never know which method is opted for you by your doctor. The

decision taken by your doctor depends upon the position of your fetus

and your body capabilities. There are four major kinds of delivery

methods namely normal or vaginal delivery, forceps delivery, suction

delivery and Cesarean section. Normal delivery is considered to be the

most widely accepted method. Under normal circumstances, the baby is

born normal or through vagina. Sometimes the doctor has to use

instruments like forceps or suction pump, that make the process of

giving birth possible through vagina but with assistance. Keep in mind

all do's and don'ts about labor and delivery and you will face no

problem at that time.

For The Baby

As you welcome your little baby, you have to provide him or her all that

is needed. Though your preparations for labor and delivery start very

early during the pregnancy but there are certain things that you need to

keep a track of and that you tend to forget or neglect the most. Think

of the place where you will keep the cot for the baby. Arrange for a

convenient place in advance, where you will keep baby's clothes, towels,

diapers, baby wipes, etc. Get enough feeding bottles and nipples for the

baby, sterilize them well and keep them in a clean place. Place a

dumping bag or bin in a nearby place.

For Yourself

Not just the baby, even you need to enjoy adequate attention and care.

Prepare everything for yourself that is required, before and after the

baby is born. The moment you come to know you are pregnant choose an

intelligent and experienced doctor or midwife for yourself who is going

to care for you even after the delivery. Keep all important things that

you will be requiring afterwords, at hand. To make things easy, form a

list of important items and keep ticking them once you get them. This

way the fear of labor and delivery won't bother you much and you will

have a memorable experience to remember!
