A Critique of Covert Hypnosis

A little while ago I posted a blog and circulated an article that shared details of an entertaining evening that my wife and I enjoyed while cruising the Mediterranean recently. You can find it on our website and blog listed in the author’s area below under the title "How To Impact Clients And Much More." In it I told about a hypnotist’s performance and pondered about the possibility of actually influencing others without their awareness or approval. The principle unanswered question was, "Could someone really hypnotize your mate, neighbors, clients, boss, or even a complete stranger with just a moderate amount of professional instruction? Well, as I’ve come to find out, the answer is a resounding "Yes!"
I truly do make a conscientious effort to avoid extolling others’ advertising hype and compelling sales pitches when I write a review of a product or service. I’ve been there and been taken advantage of by them enough in my own past to know that it is not a pleasant experience in the least and one I certainly don’t want to inflict upon others. Accordingly, I do my best to tell it like it is, or at least as I see it, depending upon my many years of experience to perform adequate research, then convey the facts that I find.
Steven Peliari is the Master Hypnotist who has created the Covert Hypnosis home training course, calling upon his many years of learning under senior Master Hypnotists’ guidance covering every possible element of both its art and science. Early in the quest of his interest in hypnosis, he made some key findings: 1) Mainstream hypnosis involving willing subjects who have granted their okay to be hypnotized, is delightful when part of an entertainment performance and helpful in a growing number of applications. 2) Hypnotizing people unknowingly, without their awareness or permission, is an even more potent specialty of hypnosis than is regular hypnosis. 3) It really is not difficult to hypnotize people without their knowledge. And 4), there are even more circumstances in which one can profit from hypnotizing people covertly.
Imagine influencing people to be instantly attracted to you. Consider the impact of urging people to enlist in your cause. How about being able to turn clients into enthusiastic purchasers? What if you were able to discern when people were telling a lie? The potential to influence people as wished while also averting manipulation by others is fantastic.
The foundation of modern day covert hypnosis theory and its attendant science stems from three mind control practises: 1) Hypnosis, 2) Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and 3) Mentalism. These three fields of concentration uniquely join to create this discreet form of hypnosis and deliver amazing results without the participants even being cognizant of it.
Mr. Peliari has come a long way since he started following his interests in hypnotism and its evolution into covert hypnosis. He currently is Chairman of the International Hypnosis Association, an establishment formed to sustain the integrity of hypnosis courses and certification bodies.
As he contemplated how he may most successfully teach the many components and techniques of covert hypnosis, he decided against trying to do so in a typical hypnosis seminar, deciding that much of the material was too advanced for that system. Instead, he developed a home {training course consisting of 15 audio chapters with over 8 hours of audio instruction, a comprehensive 322-page study guide and an exercise guidebook. Professional hypnosis-training workshops cost as much as $600 and just teach the fundamentals of hypnosis. In this home training course, the principles are covered in the first three chapters, with the remaining nine chapters delivering a wealth of more advanced training. But in addition, three more bonus chapters of highly advanced training are included.
Perhaps the following testimonial summarizes it best:
"Dear Steve,
I'm writing to congratulate you on your excellent course The Art of Covert Hypnosis. I'm very impressed with your ability to synthesize information from three complex fields into a step-by-step program that anyone can follow.
I've studied the medical application of Ericksonian hypnosis for some time. Your course would've shortened my learning curve considerably if it had been available years ago.
I also appreciate your emphasis on using these powerful techniques appropriately. Some people argue that because of the potential for misuse this knowledge should be kept secret. I agree with your decision to make it available. Most people are ethical and will greatly benefit from the knowledge and insights your course provides.
Keep up the good work.
Best Regards,
