Since the units are entirely self-contained, no water supply is necessary but you will occasionally need to add a little water to compensate for evaporation. You should also empty the catch basin periodically and replenish the unit with a fresh supply of water so any contaminates that may have found their way into the basin does not enter and clog the pumping mechanism. Outside of these minor inconveniences, your fountain will supply you with hours of enjoyment with little attention required on your part. You will be hard pressed to find another amenity around your home that relaxes you more with any less maintenance or attention.
