Do you want to create some changes in your windows but do not want to pay the cost and experience the inconvenience of a renovation? Decorating your windows may be the perfect solution. Decorative window film, a thin sheet of non-stick colorful vinyl, can add flair and style to your window, not just inside but outside your house as well.

The best thing about a window tint film is that it can also be used to shade your home from the sun, especially on hot summer days. There are various designs to choose from that will most certainly add up or even create a better ambiance to your home.

Decorative window films or window tint films are inexpensive compared to a renovation. You can have them installed by professionals but if you have the time (and if you want to develop your creative side), there are do-it-yourself films that you can use on your windows. These DIY styles are very easy to install, which allows almost anyone to stick it on a glass surface. These are the five easy steps in installing and redecorating your house with using a decorative window film.

Step 1 – Clean the glass.

Once you have found the perfect design of window film for your home, the first thing to do is to wipe of the dirt on the glass where it will be attached. Wipe it with a clean cloth and make sure there are no stains attached to your window glass.

Step 2 – Wet glass with soapy water.

Wetting the glass with soapy water gives you ample time to properly place the film on the glass. With soapy water, rest assured that the film would not stick immediately on your windows.

Step 3 – Remove from backing paper.

Carefully remove the film from the backing paper. Start at a corner and gently pull back the film.

Step 4 – Apply the film.

Now you have reached the fun part: doing it yourself and creating the look that you want for your room. Carefully remove the film from the backing paper. Adhere it on the glass. Make sure that the window is still wet with soapy water. Once positioned correctly, smooth the decorative window film with your hands.

Step 5- Squeegee away bubbles and air.

This is the last step in the process. Starting from the center and moving towards the edges, use the squeegee to completely remove all of the air and wet solutions trapped in between the glass and the tint. Double check for remaining bubbles and make sure that the film is efficiently applied on the glass.

After following five easy steps, you will successfully create a new look for your home without spending too much and without experiencing the stress of renovation. Many companies nowadays have come up with different designs of decorative window films and tints that will certainly match your style and preference.

You can opt for privacy films, etched and frosted glass window films, stained glass effect, or decorative accents depending on your needs. The best part is that you can view the designs and purchase the films online making it more convenient and easy for you to style and redecorate your home in an instant.
