For over 20 years, thousands of people make pilgrimages to a small village in a mountainous and remote part of Bosnia-Hercegovina in search of something special. They all believe that discovering this special something is truly wonderful. And they are absolutely right.

The place we are talking about is Medjugorje . For millions of people this is not just a village, it is a way of life.

It tells so many stories about human conversion, healing and forgiveness. Furthermore it is a place where people can find their peace. Peace which is celebrated by thousands of addicts fo example. Now they live their lives free from the chains of addiction. They have gotton a spirituality at this place that has built inner confidence and renewed faith and hope in their life what helped them to find the way back to life.

Medjugorje became well known with the story of six young people who claimed to have had a real experience with Virgin Mary in 1981.

After they've shared their experiences with the public, millions of pilgrims from all over the world started to travel to Medjugorge every year in search of its fruits and to experience its greatest gift – a sense of peace and hope in life.

Medjugorje has changed a lot since then. Local people started to build guesthouses and Medjugorje hotel so the pilgrims have places to stay at and so it became larger and more modern. But it is still a small and interesting village.

Although so many people are visiting this place because they believe that Mother Mary really appeared and still appears there, Medjugorje is still a subject of discussion. This contentious site of mystery and prayer continues to be controversial and the Church continues to observe this place of prayer and apparitions.

Medjugorje points us to God and helps to realize that He is available to us wherever we find ourselves to be. One of the greatest fruits Medjugorje offers is the "joy" that millions of people discover when they experience true reconciliation at this place.

The simplicity of life in this poor place offers pilgrims an invitation to avail themselves of the wealth of God’s presence in abundance.

Life can be very difficult, it is definitely not always easy and so many people are burdened with something. If you are one of these persons visit this amazing place where you can find peace, calmness and hope and where you will be able to forget about your problems and find out what can make you feel satisfied and happy.

This is the spirit of Medjugorge, a way of life that offers renewal every day when we focus on all good things we have in our lives. Sometimes the small things we are oblivious of are the important things that should make us happy. This is what happens in Medjugorje: the spirit of this place, the presence of Virgin Mary and God make us to think about these good things we have in our life.

And so Medjugorje and the power of God changed many views of life.

Many young addicts now are living lifes of contentment and fulfillment because of a real encounter with God’s love. Medjugorje is the home of communities that accompany through prayer and fellowship young people whose lives were once destroyed by addiction to harmful substances.

The testimonies of healing and recovery by these good people are truly inspirational and hope giving.
