Acai berries are small berries that resemble grapes and grow in the rainforests of Brazil. The berry itself can be found in the branched panicles of the tall palms. The berries are typically found in groups of several hundred to 1,000 fruits. Although every branch produces a considerable number of Acai berries, more branches are needed in order to get a good yield. Only a small portion of the fruit is edible. The seed or the pit covers the majority of the berry. The nutritious fruit and skin of the Acai berry is usually a deep purplish color.
For centuries, harvesting Acai berries has been a practice of the locals in Brazil. The berry has long been a part of the diet of the Brazilian locals. But recently, scientists have discovered a better use for these berries. Studies show that the Acai berry has many health benefits. More and more products on the market are making use of this fascinating berry. It’s now a common ingredient of dietary supplements found in the marketplace everywhere. Acai can be found in many different forms. These days, many supplements and diet systems contain acai berry. In Brazil, many products are made that incorporate acai berry. There is acai flavored soda, ice cream, juice blends, liquors, snack products and many other items.

The most economical way of using Acai is mixing the powder into a drink, smoothie or other foods to easily incorporate acai into the diet.
