The food can create addiction.

Recent studies assert that during the binge of food, brain trigger the same processes that make the person dependent on drugs to consume toxic substances.

According to research conducted by Dr. Gene-Jack Wang, guiding a team of researchers from Brookhaven National Laboratory and its group of doctors, those who suffer from overweight and develop a compulsive eating have a higher metabolism in the hippocampus area, which is involved in emotional behavior and learning.

In reaching this conclusion was held two weeks during an experiment with volunteers in whom they implanted a device regulator of hunger through the issuance of electronic signals of satiety. In the first seven days remained alive the connection to the transmitter which has been proven - through computerized tomography – that participants had active the same brain areas that people addicted to drugs. In the time that remained to complete the test, they had let the device turned off to compare the results between one and another week.

To the author's research, Dr. Wang, these studies represent an advance in the study of obesity, because they help establish the relationship between appetite, emotional factors and the development of overweight. For the expert, here is the explanation for someone who was obese and overcame, might fall back on.

The fact is that in the brain remains "that" food addiction. So Dr. Gene-Jack Wang points out that just as with other addictive behaviors, this type of conduct with food needs to be treated on an emotional level.
