East Yorkshire is often seen as a forgotten part of the UK when we talk about tourism but there is plenty to see and do in the region. In this article we will look at seven places to visit in the eastern part of the largest county in England.

1. We'll start with two for one. Withernsea and Hornsea are quintessential small English seaside towns and for those who want to sample the real English seaside both of these coastal towns are well worth a visit. Especially if you are a lover of traditional fish and chips!

2. Bridlington is the largest seaside resort in East Yorkshire and is always full of holidaymakers enjoying the hustle and bustle and the sea front which features many different entertainment arcades. One must thing you must do when visiting Bridlington is to take go on one the many different boat trips around the harbour and into the North Sea. Choose from a stomach churning speed boat trip or a more sedate voyage on one of the many different pleasure craft.

3. Beverley is a pleasant market town and is home to one of the most famous churches in England. The Minster site has been a place of worship for over 1300 years and the Minster itself is a truly spectacular building and one of the finest gothic churches in England.

4. The Deep in Hull. So good they made up a word especially for it! An aquarium, aquatic museum and interactive experience all rolled into one the Deep is marketed as the 'worlds only submarium' and is home to over 3500 fish.

5. The Humber Bridge joins East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire and spans the River Humber. Although it has now lost its title of the worlds longest single span suspension bridge it is still an incredible sight and a tribute to British engineering.

6. Cottingham lays claim to the title of the largest village in England and is home to nice shopping and lots of traditional pubs. Well worth a visit.

7. The east Yorkshire countryside is stunning and is dotted with many picturesque villages and is ideal for lazily exploring.
