There is a video on Google Video's called Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life. It is a documentary about life on earth the heavens and the underworld. David Attenborough presents this production by the BBC. It's a special to note the bicenterary of Darwin's life. As you listen and watch this video you can think of the Tree of Life and what it means.
This documentary video shows fabulous clips of animals, art and talks about the Tree of Life and Darwin's theory and how they all tie together. Tree of Life Tapestry Art stems from all theories including Darwins..
Darwin talks about how man is human and an animal and not having dominion over animals as our Bible suggests. He suggests man has to bare the same force that nature forces on all animals of the earth. Many artists have painted the Celtic Tree of LIfe Tapestry with their interpretation and style in their composition. Those paintings were in turn woven into tapestries to offer another art form for man and woman to enjoy.
There is much talk of sacred trees and magical healing properties in the Tree of Life. It depends on the culture you embrace and the meanings and beliefs chosen that drives us to which artwork that seems to represent our belief. It's almost like a comfort level of where we stand on our views and the art we choose to represent 'our' Tree of Life.
The Celtic Tree of Life is a very different look with it's Celtic knots and colors representing a link to the 'Realm of the Fairies and to the Gods'. The Oak was the number one sacred tree and representative of the center of the world. Druids rituals surrounded the Oaks and uncommon powers were offered to them from the Gods.
Messages were thought to be carried back and forth from the otherworld or fairy world to earth and man via the trees or Oaks. Ribbons were tied to trees to show a blessing of love, healing and prosperity. To tie a ribbon around an old oak tree is commonly seen today to represent the loss of a love one. This tradition was created long, long ago and will continue on as time goes on.
The Celtic Tapestry and Tree of Life Tapestry Art is interesting and many times very beautiful way to show a belief in a decorative way in our homes. Since there are the traditional styles from William Morris, Art Deco by Klimt, Modern styles by Natasha Wescoat and more we have a beautiful and enjoyable collection to enjoy.
