What are your options as far as lodging in Florence go, for those of you planning to stay in this culture-vulture’s Italian paradise?
Florence is a truly magical city, packed with something to appeal to all tastes. Whether your aim is cultural sightseeing, designer label shopping, experiencing its mouth-watering cuisine, or a mix of all three, choosing the right backdrop to your holiday in the form of suitable accommodation is an absolute must.
If you’re just enjoying a fleeting visit to this Tuscan capital – perhaps a week-end, city break – then it may be best to go for an all-in-one package deal. But, if you’re staying just a little longer, you’ve some exciting options.
First of all, for those of you who aren’t short of funds and wish to live like royalty, you’ll discover a fine selection of super 5 star hotels, well-located in the heart of the city, and just a short stroll from the main sights. The Palazzo Magnani Feroni, the Westin Excelsior, and the Grand Hotel Florence are three of the best, all receiving excellent reviews.
Maybe you can’t afford to fork out on such luxury? Then, why not check out bed and breakfast accommodation? This is usually a private home, where the owners let out rooms to holiday-makers. Some of them are really affordable, providing you with the opportunity to soak up a homely, Florentine atmosphere. What’s more, the city center is liberally sprinkled with them, so you’ve plenty to choose from.
Some of you may prefer to happily tootle round your own kitchen, put your feet up in front of the TV, and escape outsiders for a while, in the privacy of your own rented apartment or studio.
This option is particularly popular with families who have small children, for they often find it difficult to relax in hotel accommodation, where their little darlings seem intent on annoying all the other guests!
The larger the family or group of friends, the more affordable it is to rent. What’s more, if you’re happy to go outside the city, you’ll discover some fabulous villas and country farmhouses nestling in the beautiful Tuscan hills.
Maybe you plan to combine your visit to Florence with a favorite hobby … such as golf, or shopping for Gucci! No problem! Florence has several golf courses, such as the Ugolino Golf Course, Le Pavoniere, and the Poggio dei Medeci, complete with nearby hotels.
And, if designer shopping is your weakness, why not check out bed and breakfasts in the Tuscan countryside close to the Mall, where you can spend your time and money picking up fabulous bargains.
Check out individual accommodation reviews online, match your lodging in Florence to your personal and financial preferences, and you’re sure to have the holiday of a lifetime!
