The expression number is one of the 5 core numerology numbers that are used in Pythagorean numerology. These 5 core numerology numbers are the ones that provide the most insights into ones talents, strengths and weaknesses and these are also the numbers that influence our life path and destiny like no other numerology numbers.

Now, let's have a closer look at the expression number: This number reflects how you approach different events and situations in your life. It provides information about your strengths, talents and virtues, as well as about your weaknesses and shortcomings.

In different life situations, when you are confronted with difficulties or problems, you react in a very specific way. Now, using your inherent talents and capabilities (as defined by your expression number) allows you to handle these challenges much better.

Knowing your expression number allows you to better understand your talents, strengths and weaknesses and to better adapt your approach towards difficult situations you may be confronted with.

Your expression number is also closely related with your destiny number. The strengths and talents provided by your expression number are therefore crucial on your way to fulfilling your destiny.

So, the first and most important step is to become aware of your strengths and weaknesses and then you need to make a conscious effort to further develop your talents and also to improve some of your most hampering shortcomings.

How do you calculate your expression number?

The expression numerology number is calculated from the letters in your full name. Write down your first name, last name and all your middle name (if you have any) as stated on your birth certificate and put the corresponding numbers underneath the letters appearing in your name.

The corresponding number for the letter A is 1, B = 2, C = 3, D = 4… I = 9, J = 1, K = 2 and so on. In the next step you add the numerical value of the letters in your first name and you reduce the result to a single digit number. The master numbers 11 and 22 are not reduced.

Do the same calculation for your last name and for your middle names. Finally, to get your expression number, add the single digits (or master numbers) of your first-, last- and middle names and again, reduce the result to a single digit, with the exception of the master numbers 11 and 22, which are not reduced.

As you can see, it is relatively easy to calculate your expression number. You can also calculate the expression number for some of your friends, family members or work colleagues and you will see that those people with the same expression number will have very similar strengths and talents as well as weaknesses and shortcomings.
