Women search continuously for the secrets to what men want, and yet, strangely enough there are no secrets. To men it's unmistakably obvious – they seek to be admired and appreciated.

Many men believe that most relationship problems are set in motion when they feel inadequate in a relationship.

Men's passions are fragile. While rarely will a man concede to it, a man prospers on appreciation. What men want is to be rewarded for their achievements, not criticized. A man needs to feel that he is loved. He needs assurance that he is caring for his family and satisfying his woman.

A man might not say it, but what a man really wants is a woman who understands his needs.

What else do men need from a woman?

What men want is a woman who is stable in her own right, a woman who has her personal interests and her own identity. What men do not want is a woman who overly dependent or who derives her identity exclusively through him.

Men respond positively to a woman who is emotionally dependable. Simply put, she takes responsibility for her own conduct, and in so doing she demonstrates maturity, responsibility, and sensitivity to her man.

Men honor a woman who encourages open and honest communication. Honest communication is no doubt the single most important deterrent to relationship problems and relationship breakup. A woman who listens to her man, and who respects his position, is a woman who will be abundantly rewarded with love and fidelity.

Men are grateful for a woman who gives him space. Typically men seek to solve troubles by moving to a personal space. Women need to recognize these cues, appreciating that when a man seeks space, it is not always for negative reasons. In fact, the problems might be completely unrelated to her. By allowing him the space he needs, a woman is telling her man that she respects his privacy, and that she will support him when he needs her.

Ultimately, what men want is dedication and commitment. A woman who puts her relationship first, who is willing to make the relationship succeed– especially in rough times – is a woman who will enjoy her man's undying love.

Relationship problems, even relationship breakup, are solved with commitment. What men want in return for that commitment is sincere and open communication where each of the partners can speak without fear of payback.

In a healthy relationship, a man understands that love prospers where there is accountability and emotional maturity. This means allowing the power of forgiveness to surpass the destruction of resentment.

A devoted man thrives on appreciation and admiration from a woman who adores him and he returns those feelings.

What a man wants is neither secretive nor mysterious. And in the end, isn't what he wants precisely the same things that a woman wants?
