The human body is an amazing collection of organs, processes, and abilities. Food is used as fuel, skin is regrown regularly, waste products are eliminated, injuries are repaired, adult size is attained, and all while decision making processes, creativity, and social skills are exhibited. Given the proper combination of clean water, healthful food, reasonable activity levels, and a good attitude, it's really nothing short of amazing what can be accomplished.

However, when this healthy balance is interrupted through injury, poisoning, or chronic medical conditions or environmental factors, natural healing becomes more difficult. When you are experiencing powerful health, the poisons are broken down into harmless components and then eliminated. The best thing you can do to maintain powerful health is to become knowledgeable and to take good care of the only body you have.

What Are Toxins?

Toxins are substances that interfere with natural healing methods. The most easily recognizable toxin is ethanol. Waking from a night of binge drinking is an excellent example of what toxins feel like: nausea, exhaustion, and headache combine to create that wish-you-were-dead feeling that is forgotten all too soon.

In addition to the external poisons of alcohol, cigarettes, pollutants, and microbes, there are also internal threats. Free radicals occur as natural results of metabolic processes and they wreck havoc on the integrity of cell walls. When we are in a position of powerful health, we are generally able to remove many of these toxins without assistance. However, with the increased number of pollutants in the environment, additional detoxification measures may be necessary for true detoxification.

What Is Detoxification?

Detoxification is the process by which toxins are removed. The natural processes include respiration, urination and defecation, and sweating. All of these natural healing processes require an adequate hydration level and functioning systems. Dehydration interferes with every process, making water the most important detoxification tool.

There are many alternative healing methods that introduce various compounds used to flush toxins from the body. These methods include liver cleanse, kidney detox, colon cleanse, and bowel detox. Most of these compounds use wild harvested organic herbs with the understanding that the human body has evolved for thousands of years using these plants as both food and medicine, unlike the synthetic components of our modern world.

Prevention Is The Best Medicine

The best way to prevent these poisons from building up in your body is to introduce lifestyle changes that lead to powerful health. Cut back or eliminate things such as excessive alcohol, smoking, and overly processed foods. Consume plenty of fresh clean water each day to allow your body to attain its own state of powerful health and natural healing. Get outside, go for a walk, exercise, join a team, use the stairs, do whatever it takes to get your body active. Eat plenty of whole grains, leafy greens, and organic herbs and produce. This isn't new information. It's what you've known all along. Rid your body of toxins and you will be delighted to rediscover the vitality, enthusiasm, and stamina you experienced at a healthier age.
