Cheaters, yeah, I know them so well. I had my moments with them. I thought I learned from the first one, until a better, more evolved cheater trapped me in his wiles again. After the second one, I swore I would be more careful and vigilant in looking out for cheaters. From that traumatic experience, I got ample ideas on how to spot a cheater. Here are some lessons I learned on how a cheater works.

  • The cheater wants you to try something out. This may refer from your appearance, to your hobbies, to your sex act. When I first hooked-up with my ex, he used to love the simple ‘ol me, after a while, he suggested to have my belly-pieced.

He also wanted me to wear super-daring- fishnet- type outfits. Initially, I thought he was just joking. Then, I thought that maybe he just wanted to have something different in our relationship. Later on, I found- out he was fooling around with a stripper on the side. Yes, he did the "Sandra Bullock" on me.

And oh, yes, when it comes to our sex life, he suddenly had tons of ideas every day I can’t keep up.

  • The cheater bans you in social media. Facebook and Twitter, everybody has one. When you are seeing a guy and is far beyond friendship, yet doesn’t accept you as his friend in Facebook, you need to be wary, because there’s something fishy going on.

  • The cheater takes you only to specific places. I knew that something wasn’t right when my ex only takes me to covert places. Initially, I thought he just wanted to have some privacy, but I realized he doesn’t want someone he knows bumping into him and tell his girlfriend of eight years about it.

  • The cheater RARELY answers your calls. He might call you, or text, but when you call him, he doesn’t answer immediately. If this happens most of the time, begin to seriously wonder why? What/who is he hiding? As for me, I found out he was hiding his other girlfriend.

  • The cheater makes you his Last-minute lady. At firs, this may sound exciting- the late night dinners, the sudden lunch dates, his surprise appearance in your house. Being spontaneous can be really exciting, but when this goes on without him making any plans for you, then you need to ask where your relationship is going.

  • The cheater doesn’t take you to his place. This may be awkward to expect this in the first few weeks of dating, but when you have been dating exclusively for months and he hasn’t take you to his place, consider it as a big, red warning flag!

  • Watch out for a woman’s touch. So he took you to his place, you see a wonderful pink and red vases and rest room smells like a woman’s scent! If he's not cheating on you with another woman or living with his mother or sister, then consider these-- either he's gay or is living with one.
