By using the like button anyone can become a fan of yours, the like button is found directly on your fan page. Not only is it nice to be popular, it also serves as a nifty communication tool. Everyone on your fan page can receive status updates from you. As the message goes directly to the Facebook inbox, more people are likely to open it (who doesn't read their FB mail?) plus also they are more likely to actually receive it in the first place. This is basically list building but with the safety and trust of the Facebook platform.

Once people arrive at your fanpage it's your chance to impress them with an irresistible offer. Make sure you have an enticing offer (eBook, video, report etc..) you want to encourage your visitor to hit the like button and also click through to a capture page where they can opt in to your list. Or you could put an opt in form directly on your fan page. Therefore creating a 'Double lead'

One of the most effective tools that sell, is social proof, a fan page is a great way to build this. Once you've built up a good few fans, any new prospect is going to be impressed which instantly helps with your credibility!

There are many ways to drive traffic to your new fanpage, you might want to consider using the Facebook PPC service or perhaps create a page badge which you can put on your website. Personally I have found the badges to be very effective, you can also have an update showing all the latest posts on your fan page
