There is no doubt that the breakup left you in a fragile state. However, as bad as it may seem at the moment, you do have options and the situation isn't as hopeless as you think it is.   5. After a few weeks, you can stop avoiding your ex and don't be afraid of bumping into them. If you do, play it cool and treat them as you would any other person. Don't be nasty and vengeful, just stay on an even keel between being overly nice and rude.
