In this article, we are going to talk about how you can make your job search in Austria as easy as possible.
The first and most obvious thing is to see what you can find with the help of a job search engine. Job search engines work like any other search engine only that instead of letting you search among websites, it let's you search among job postings. Some job search engines will only find you jobs that are listed on their site and some will show you jobs from many different job sites across the internet.
Another thing you can do when you are looking for jobs in Austria is having a look at more niched job boards. There are many different ones out there and what you do is simply think about what career you are interested in and then you find a job board that will cater to that market. This is smart because you will be able to find a wider selection of jobs that interest you instead of having to wade through a lot of offers that are not even that interesting to you.
If you don't have any success with the job search engines or with job boards, you can always try networking. If you know people in Austria, that's great! Start by asking them if they know about any available jobs. If you don't know anyone in Austria, that's okay to. Maybe you know someone who knows someone in Austria. What I mean is that you should try to pull some strings. Look in the social circles where you wouldn't look normally and leave no stone unturned. You might get lucky!
Then there's the part of how you present yourself when searching for a job in Austria. Start by taking a look at your email address. If it's something along the lines of niceguy22@gmail.com or prettygirl33@gmail.com you should probably change it. To be professional, just make it your real name instead of some nickname.
If an employer in Austria is seriously considering to hire you, they will most probably Google your name. Therefor, you need to google yourself and see what comes up. Do you like what you see? And most importantly, do you think a future employer will like what they see? If you find something there that might scare an employer off, consider starting a blog in your own name and try to outrank those bad pages. This leads me to the next point.
Why not start a blog about yourself as a professional? Not only will this encourage an employer, there's also a good chance it will outrank anything you don't want an employer to find out about you through Google. When searching for a job in Austria, you really need to think about first impressions. Why not make the employers first impression professional and not about something you don't want the employer to know about.
These are some basic tips when you are on the look out for a job in Austria. At the end of they day it's the same thing as everywhere else. Try to present yourself in a professional and polite manner and you should do fine.
