The Endless Use of LED Strip Lights

LED strip lights are an endless source of interior design ideas due to their wide range of application. Although rope lights already existed with incandescent lights, their use and features can hardly be compared to LED strip lights’ despite their similarity in looks. While rope lights are exclusively for decoration, and have a 360° beam angle – so they illuminate their entire surroundings – LED strips can be used for task lighting as well, or tightened on flat surfaces lighting to one direction only.
Besides the numerous advantages of LED lights themselves, such as extremely low power consumption, very long lifespan, eco-friendliness, durability and the low cost of maintenance, LED strip lights are available with such brilliance that can replace even a 60W halogen light. This actually takes us to the two categories of LED strip lights we need to talk about: ultra bright strip lights for task lighting and LED lights for decoration.
LED strips for task or strong local lighting are perfect replacement for fluorescent tubes for start. LED strings are available in tube forms now too, but if you are not simply replacing an existing fluorescent tube but would rather hide the source of light, you have found the ideal answer. Strip lights – unlike fluorescent tubes – can be dimmed too, and the beam of light deriving from a source can be strengthen by placing more than one lines next to each other. A good trick is to use smaller pieces of strip lights placed next to each other. Task light LED strips are often used in kitchens for illuminating worktops, providing an even light all throughout the worktop. Strip lights are great sources of any additional light, nearby the table or even within the reach of children. From safety point of view, the strips are ideal since they operate at low voltage, and they are also available with silicone covering and high IP rating, protecting them from water.
Dimmable task lighting is desirable in various places where we would like to add some additional bright source of diffused light. Here are a few places where their use is typical: edges of furniture, behind certain pieces of furniture, within a cabinet illuminating shelves, around mirrors (even in the bathroom, where lights require a high IP rating), along stairs or ramps of staircases, etc. The good use of light in interior decoration can work miracles in an apartment, as it generally widens spaces, or with a good focus of light in a large space, it makes it feel cosier. Entrance and hallway areas, which are generally narrow, can use such extra sources of light, let that be a stronger task light illuminating an object or a smaller are, or a background light running along the whole area at the bottom or top of the ceiling.
Strip lights are also ideal accent lighting solutions all over the house. They are most commonly applied in the kitchen, placed behind the cupboards or under the worktop. Light facing upwards under a glass coffee table, a sofa or mouldings create a new atmosphere to your home. A completely new range of ambience can exist in your home if you use coloured lights as well. With the introduction of RGB technology with LEDs, colours can be changed gradually and used in a wide range.
