The highest rank in the border patrol service is the GL-9. The officers in this rank will earn approximately $ 46,542 per year. The duties of these officers will also be higher then those of the GL-7 rank. The GL-9 officers are required to have better skills that all the officers of the other ranks. Their assignments require them to have a lot of intelligence to be able to deal with their cases wisely. They also deal with a lot of law enforcement projects.
