Every once in a while you hear an inspirational story about someone who overcomes horrendous life circumstances, and achieves extraordinary success in spite of it all. Life gives them a lemon, so to speak, and they make lemonade out of it.

This is one of those stories.

It was about 10 years ago that I first learned about a good woman in her mid 50s. She had given her life to being a good wife and mother. Then it all fell apart. First, her husband died, leaving her a widow alone in this world except for a teenage son. Then her only son, the pride and joy of her life, was killed by a drunk driver. In deep despair, and without hope, she shut down... emotionally, physically, spiritually. She gained weight... lots of it. She withdrew from her friends and extended family. This went on for about a year.

Then late one night, while watching TV, she had an awakening of sorts. She heard someone say that they believed everyone was birthed to sing a God-given song in their lives, but most people die with that song still unsung. She realized she was without a song. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired. She determined to make a difference--not only in her life, but in the lives of others. She got busy. She studied health and nutrition. She changed her diet, began to exercise, Her interest in wellness led her to a home-based business opportunity, and she jumped in with both feet.

She didn't have an office at home to work from. She didn't even have a desk. But she had an ironing board, standing in the dining room with clothes piled high. She made her ironing board her desk. She reached out to friends and neighbors, who became her customers and business associates. Fueled by her desire to help others, as well as take control of her own life, she achieved extraordinary success over the next 18 months, hitting the second highest rank in her network marketing company. All working from home, working from her ironing board.

Why am I relating this story? Two reasons. One is personal, and the other business and tax-related:

Reason #1.

Is there a song still within you, still waiting to be sung? Weren't you put here to do something extraordinary? When we were kids, we had fun dreaming. Then life got in the way. Have the day to day pressures and circumstances of life taken the inspiration and motivation out of your heart? Don't let mediocrity be the acceptable standard in your life! Determine your "why", let yourself dream again. You'll find the inspiration and motivation to get back on track to your destiny.

Reason #2

Did you know that your ironing board can be tax deductible? I'm a tax accountant. I specialize in helping home-based business owners save on taxes, And I'm amazed at how many folks just like you send far too much money to the IRS each year on April 15th. They don't fully know the tax advantages of owning an at-home business.

If you operate a business primarily from your home, and use a portion of your home exclusively and regularly for business purposes, that area is deductible. Meaning a portion of your rent, your utilities, your real estate taxes, your home repairs... and more... is tax deductible. Also deductible are the equipment, the tools, the computers, the cell phones, (the ironing boards!) you use, at least to the extent they are legitimately used in the operation of your part time or full time home-based business.

Many do not take these deductions, because they don't know the rules, or they fear that taking the deduction will trigger an IRS audit. If that's you, let's connect. We can show you how to utilize dozens of legal, audit-proof deductions, credits and strategies that help you keep more of what your earn in your pocket and reduce Uncle Sam's tax bite.

Dream big. Make Uncle Sam's tax bite small.
