Wedding is a solemn moment, for someone even sacred. But when it comes to the wedding reception it turns into an enjoyable moment.

The wedding reception, no matter if it is held in a hotel or in another location, is an essential feature of the wedding day, a moment that usually lasts many hours, the moment that guests await to celebrate and the moment when bride and groom, once the stress and a bit of the emotion of the religious or civil ceremony is over, can relax and enjoy their day together with relatives and friends. For this reason it is important that during the wedding reception everything goes well. Here are some tips to organize the perfect wedding reception.

The first thing to take into consideration, when you organize a reception, is the time when it is meant to take place. If you want it to be held at dinner or lunch time, you will probably choose a traditional banquet with many courses, but if you would like to do something simpler, you might choose one of the latest trends about wedding reception: you can offer a brunch, if you get married in the morning, or a sort of break, if the ceremony takes place in the afternoon. Not real receptions actually, but something less demanding – also from the point of view of costs - to thank and stay with the guests that you have chosen to share this important day with, without having to sit at the table for a long time eating courses after courses. The ideal choice for the youngest couples that are not necessarily bound to a traditional ideal of wedding reception, but also for all those couples that do not really care for conventions. In these cases the menu for the wedding banquet will not include many complicated courses, but simpler dishes, snacks and finger food that guests can also eat while standing.

However, in most cases people want to offer their guests a real lunch or dinner, which implies two possibilities: you might choose a traditional banquet with starters, many main and second courses and the wedding cake, which can never miss, or you can choose a faster "procedure", with single courses, a starter buffet that people can eat before they sit down, and some small desserts before the wedding cake. The latter option is becoming more and more popular, meeting the desire of many couples - and many guests will certainly appreciate that - to make the wedding lunch or dinner faster and simpler, as long receptions are not always appreciated, being sometimes considered boring and dispersive. On the other hand, the traditional, long wedding reception is still popular, especially among the greediest people, who consider weddings a "tasty" chance to express their love for food. It is up to the bridal pair to try and guess the best formula for themselves and for the guests.

As far as the menu choice in concerned, it obviously depends on the tastes of the couple. However, we can suggest that you try to choose a varied menu, which can satisfy as many guests as possible, paying attention to the possible cases of food allergies or vegetarian guests. And if you wish to follow one of the latest trends, which has characterized also the wedding of the century, the one of Kate and William, choose season and km 0 food!
