This tour will pick up at various times depending on the hotel. The time range for pickup will be 7:15-8:00 AM depending on location. The tour will work like this. You are picked up at your hotel and will be driven to Batubulan village. You will enjoy various things such as stone carving at this village. The route will then continue to Celak village which is a fine example of silversmithing and goldsmithing. A stop will be made at art shops where you can take a look at jewellery made in this area.
The next stop will be Sukawati and all types of Bali art products are available here for sale to you. No matter if you want sarongs or statues, you can find it here. Our next stop will be in Tampak Siring. The site of interest here will be the Palace of the first Indonesian President. Appointments must be made to view the palace. There are also other tours such as Tirta Empul that can also be viewed. Bali Trunyan village is also included in this tour. This village is located on Lake Batur and is across from Toya Bungkah village. This is accessible by a 15 minute boat ride from a nearby small harbour in Buahan.
Another section of this tour would be to Trunyan, Bali Aga and the Unburied Body. This will be a drive that is scenic to Penelokan. At Lake Batur, you will find motorboats waiting to take you across the lake to Trunyan. This village stands on the dividing line between the past and the future. Due to the location of Trunyan as well as the secretive nature of the people, you will find a people that retain their animist customs, rituals and ceremony. This is unique to Bali.
These natives call themselves the Original Balinese or "Bali Aga". One thing of note is that their dead are laid out in a ravine away from the village. This leaves the bodies at the mercy of nature. The decomposition of these bodies admits no odor and this is attributed to the Menyan tree and its perfume. This is the same tree that gives the village its name. On the opposite side of the lake is a volcano. This looms above Toya Bungkah. This contains hot springs that go into the cooler lake waters. Toya Bungkah has become a popular retreat for young and old.
The tour will be completed at your arrival back at the harbour. Your tour will end around 5 PM depending again on the location of your hotels. Included is transport, entrance fees for tourism places, English speaking guide as well as lunch. This will be valid until March 2012. What is not included in this tour is donation at the Bali Trunyan area or personal expenses incurred. Bear in mind that this is an occasional tour. Before booking this tour, you should inquire about the availability of this particular tour. The cost in USD is 105 for adults and the tour code is ABL-SS.15.
